takes place in the setting of authentic Victorian architecture and the brick
streets of downtown.
Step back in time to the 1890’s and experience
delights such as horse-drawn carriage rides,
shop keepers and locals dressed in period
costumes, street theater presentation and story
tellers, street corner carolers, church choirs, street
dancers, bands and concerts, a Victorian Museum,
pet adoptions, over 100 stores and restaurants
decorated for the holidays, food and holiday
delicacies and, of course, Saint Nicholas! A
dramatic live Nativity is held during the evening
of the event while performances by
Thomasville
Onstage entertain
everyone. Mimes, jugglers and an
organ grinder also add to
the
merriment. The merchants of
Thomasville open their doors to
visitors during this festive
event.
Pebble Hill Plantation’s Christmas
Candlelight Tour: The Christmas Candlelight Tours
occur annually on the Friday and
Saturday of the second weekend of
December. Guests are treated to a tour
of the downstairs of the Main House(which is decked out in its holiday
finery), a champagne reception, and
carriagerides. Seasonal live music and
a special script recalling Christmases
past at Pebble Hill add to this event
and help make it a “must do” each
